Mary Isobel (Gannaway) Gregson died peacefully on May 10, 2017, in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Gregson was born on November 15, 1917, in Lynchburg, VA, to Mary Nelson and John Edward Gannaway, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Page Nelson (Gannaway) Carrington of Lynchburg, VA, and by her husband of sixty-four years, James Randolph Gregson of Jonesboro, AK, former President of the United States Tennis Association, with whom she lived in New Orleans for over fifty years. Mary Isobel (Gannaway) Gregson died peacefully on May 10, 2017, in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Gregson was born on November 15, 1917, in Lynchburg, VA, to Mary Nelson and John Edward Gannaway, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Page Nelson (Gannaway) Carrington of Lynchburg, VA, and by her husband of sixty-four years, James Randolph Gregson of Jonesboro, AK, former President of the United States Tennis Association, with whom she lived in New Orleans for over fifty years. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and a former member of the Junior League of New Orleans, she was a devout member of Trinity Episcopal Church of New Orleans and a long-time member of the New Orleans Lawn Tennis Club. Mrs. Gregson is survived by her children, Page Nelson (Gregson) Cole (Gregory Dale Cole) and John Randolph Gregson II, and her grandchildren, Alexandra Duval Gillis and Graham Webster Gillis, and Charlotte Reily Gregson and John Randolph Gregson III, and great-grandchild Gabriel Gillis.
